Oriental Port and Allied Services Corporation (OPASCOR) receives
the “INDUSTRY CATALYST OF THE YEAR AWARD” from Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and
Industry for its excellent service and for developing the Finger Pier as a key
infrastructure to spur economic growth and driving industry to new heights.
In its Chamber’s Night and Award, MCCI awarded
people and institutions that have remarkably contributed to the city’s pride
and prosperity.
Chairman and CEO – Atty. Tomas A. Riveral
receives the award in behalf of OPASCOR. In his speech he said, “I was
overwhelmed and inspired because we never expected that we will be recognized
with our bold effort to put up a new infrastructure at the Port of Cebu. We
never thought of any reward, our only considerations were first we want to help
the government and the business community ease the yard congestion as well as
the berthing congestion at the Port of Cebu and we also want to develop more
employment for the people in this province”.
